From The Inside Out

From The

Inside Out

Phillippians 1: 12-13

Pastor Dan Wilkerson

What do I have to find within me?

1.  I must find within me the spiritual purpose for what is happening to me (vs. 12-13).

2.  I must develop a personal conviction that tough times make me spiritually stronger (1 Peter 1:6-7).

A.  1 Peter 1:6-7 – Troubles build my faith.

B.  James 1:2-4 – Troubles are a way to grow spiritually.

C.  (Paul) Romans 5: 3-5 – Troubles build hope in God.

3.  I must determine within me that the present and future will govern my life and not the past (vs. 13-14).

4.  I must determine to say “No” even before I find myself in the situation of having to say “No” arrives (1 Corinthians 6:12).

If it is important that we learn from our past, how do we focus on it to learn from it without it governing or appearing to govern our lives? Does our past not define who we are today and how we got here?
